Hello ladies :) For today's post, I decided to share which mascaras I've been calling "favorites" lately. This group consists of 5 mascaras - 2 high end, and 3 by Maybelline (drugstore).
Dior "DiorShow" $24.50
I've been a fan of this ever since my high school days, when it quickly became a favorite of mine. Because of the hefty price, I only purchase it every now and then. When it comes to mascaras, it's all about the brush for me - I always look for those that are super rounded, as well as on the large side. DiorShow happens to be famous for its large brush! Not only do I get a great amount of volume, I also get length, which is super important to me. After two coats, it can start to clump. So, if you have a heavy hand, be careful ;)
Clinique "Lash Building Primer" $13.50
I like to use this under any and all mascaras I use. It's the only lash primer I've tried, but I don't feel the need to stray. I really do notice a difference in my lashes when I use this, in comparison to mascara on its own. It gives them a nice silky coating, making application of my mascara easier. It also adds length, which is never a bad thing! The only negative is that it is pretty liquidy, so you have to wait a few minutes for it to dry before you move on to your mascara.
Maybelline "Full 'n Soft" $6.00
My favorite drugstore mascara...ever! Everything about it is wonderful :) The name really does explain it all... I get the perfect amount of volume and separation. My lashes feel so conditioned and flexible, I can barely tell anything is even on them! The brush is the absolute best - the bristles are so light, airy, and gentle. This is the mascara I purchase the most. I can't find anything wrong with it :)
Maybelline "Colossal Volum' Express" $7.00
Another great one from Maybelline! The brush is wonderful...again, round shape/large size. The formulation is a bit thicker than Full 'n Soft. That being said, while I do get the volume, I don't get as much separation or lift.
Maybelline "Great Lash BIG" $5.00
Can you tell my preference for Maybelline mascaras? Lol. Most of us are familiar with the original "Great Lash". Well, this is the "BIG" version (the label fell off). The formulation is the same, however, the brush is much bigger than the original. Out of my favorites, I use this one the least. While the brush is fab, the formulation is definitely on the tacky side, which can be difficult to work with.
Do you use any of these? What's your favorite mascara? Thank you for reading!
xoxo,
Bri
